Stop Staring! Rockabilly Fashion Show on KTLA
For all of you Angelenos tuning in on Tuesday to your local KTLA Morning News broadcast you might have just caught a pleasant surprise. Alicia Estrada, the Stop Staring! Designer herself presented her gorgeous Rockabilly Dresses Collection. She spoke to none other than Michaela Pereira about her designs and inspirations. Many of you Stop Staring fans might have recognized the styles that came prancing down the catwalk. Who knows maybe you already have one or two of them. For those out of the loop, let me break it down. The Rockabilly Clothing featured the Mon Cherie, previously worn by Katherine McPhee on SMASH; the Gathered Ava Dress in Red, a true classic that has been worn by the likes of Kristin Bauer of True Blood and Kim Kardashian; the Billion Dollar Pink, a Star favorite that can be currently seen rocked by Lindsay Pearce of The Glee Project; the Celebrity in Navy and White dot, a dress that lives up to its name and has been worn by Vanessa William on Desperate Housewives; the cute red organza number is a brand new dress called the Darling. NBC’s new hit show SMASH features Katherine McPhee wearing our super cute cherry print summer dress. And now, not only has the show seem to have become a huge hit but so did our dress! This month’s Elle’s Beauty Obsession, entitled Lip Service, is a remarkable story on every woman’s favorite beauty product- LIPSTICK! The story tells of the new collaboration, Lipstick Queen and Elle Magazine are desigining as an exclusive for the new Elle Spa at Miami Beach’s Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel. So imagine our excitement when we see that the Lipstick Queen herself, Poppy King, is wearing none other than, Stop Staring! for her profile photo in the magazine!! Not only does Poppy have the best taste when it comes to Lipstick colors, as she always seems to nail the best colors to match a womens fleshtone, but she has exquisite style in her clothing choices as well!! But can we blame her….we all know nothing looks better with red lipstick than those amazing vintage dresses!!

What do fashion labels, Stop Staring! and Stussy have in common?? Well, besides, both being some of the coolest clothing manufacturers in the game, it was, surprisingly enough, our Faith in Jesus Christ, that brought the two together a few weeks ago in Long Beach, CA. We were lucky enough to get word of an amazing Breakfast Seminar being held by Cottonwood Christian Church, that Stussy Owner and CEO, Frank Sinatra, was going to be guestspeaking at . We jumped at the opportunity to attended this event, and to this day, this has had to be one of the coolest events I have EVER attended!
Frank Sinatra, for those of you who don’t know, is along with Shawn Stussy, one of the creators and owners of the world famous Stussy Brand. Shawn Stussy being the designer and creative mind of the business and Frank being, the behind the scenes, brilliant, business mastermind. The brand has been around for over 25 years with Frank now running the entire show. The seminar was a very inspiring and heartfelt story of the ups and downs of this infamous company and how the Bible and Jesus Christ were the center and driving factor of every business decision made in this giant company. Also, how these ideals are still the core of Frank Sinatra’s business philosophy.
It’s so amazing to see where and how faith can play such a huge part in everyones day to day business operations and how important it is to let God guide your most important business and non-business decisions. This seminar was amazing and , literally, heaven sent!! As huge fans of Stussy since way back in the day, we are so happy to have been part of it . Till next time, ONE WORLD, ONE LOVE!!
Just a few weeks ago we were so excited when our cocktail dresses got a mention on Runway Magazine by Kristin Bauer. So you can imagine how flippen exited we were when we picked up the latest issue and see our sexy safari dress in a full page photo on the super sultry, Anna Trebunskaya! For those of you who don’t know, Anna Trebunskaya is a professional dancer who has won the hearts of us Americans on everyones favorite dancing show- Dancing with the Stars. You gotta go pick up the newest copy of Runway magazine and read the awesome interview they did with Anna. They also took this amazing photo of her in our dress and we think it is awesome and we totally dig it. Great Choice, Anna. Who knew that leopard print could be so hot with her red hair!! LOVE it!!
